Counseling for Teens

Mother reaches for upset teenage daughter

Being a teenager or being the parent of a teenager is not for the faint-of-heart. Today's teens and emerging adults face pressures and challenges unheard of in previous generations. And with adolescence lasting longer and longer due to earlier puberty and delayed adulthood, having the right support to help navigate these challenging years can be crucial.

Many teens benefit greatly from time spent with a knowledgeable counselor who can serve as a trusted non-parental adult to help process some of the more confusing pieces of adolescence. Giving teens permission to seek counseling during these years is a great way to help them learn how to care for themselves as they mature into adults.

Issues frequently dealt with by teens in counseling include (but are not limited to):

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Identity - who am I?

  • Cutting/self-harm

  • Motivation struggles

  • Peer relationships - where do I belong?

  • Family dynamics

If your teen is needing some extra support, we are here to provide it.
